I have one of these new in the exact same plastic case in my living room but it's only a large digital clock without the radio or alarms. This was the same price refurbished but with a clock radio and dual alarms. Be sure to keep the instructions as you will need them, but once you learn how to set the alarms I was pleasantly surprised.
The radio reception which I was worried about in my apartment is pretty decent for both AM and FM, and while it has a tiny speaker, it is still plenty loud enough to wake you when turned up all the way. You can wake by radio or loud beep which starts low and gradually increases until it reaches the volume you set. It also has 10 presets for both AM and FM with the only drawback being you have to cycle through all 10 to get to the preset you want. Only real negative is the power cord which is a bit on the short side.
So far, very happy with it and it's a steal at this price. Low price and sounds good and looks good. The LED screen got very light. A real bargain. I recently had to start working remotely from home. This clock radio give me large, easy to read numbers and pretty good sound on the radio. I bought the cheapest large display clock that I could find on Amazon.
